San Francisco Dykes on Bikes ("we," "us," "our") are committed to maintaining privacy protections for our patch-holders, prospects, interested parties, and users of our Website and other services (“you”) by adhering to this policy. Our Privacy Policy (“Privacy Policy”) is designed to help you understand how we collect, use, and disclose the information you provide to us and to assist you in making informed decisions when using and accessing our Website https://www.dykesonbikes.org/ (the “Website”); when participating in the charitable programs, monthly rides, (educational) events, volunteer opportunities, fundraising activities, communications, and related services that we provide or support; or when otherwise providing us with your personal information (collectively, our “Services”). 

 

Scope 
 

This policy describes how we collect and use personal information from our patch-holders, prospects, and individuals interested in becoming a member of or contacting San Francisco Dykes on Bikes. As stated in our Terms of Use, incorporated herein, this Website is not directed to or intended for use by anyone under the age of 18. If you are under the age of 18, please do not use our Website or Services. In the event that we learn that we have gathered personal information from anyone under the age of 18 without the consent of a parent or guardian, we will delete that information as soon as possible. BY ACCESSING OUR WEBSITE, YOU ACCEPT OUR TERMS OF USE AND THIS PRIVACY POLICY AND CONSENT TO OUR COLLECTION, STORAGE, USE AND DISCLOSURE OF YOUR PERSONAL INFORMATION AS DESCRIBED HEREIN.

 

If our information practices change at any time in the future, we will post the policy changes to the Website. Please check the Website and this Privacy Policy periodically if you are concerned about how your information is used. 
 

How We Collect, Use, and Disclose Your Personal Information
 

We only collect, use, store, and transfer collect personal information necessary to provide you with our Services. Personal Information includes information about an individual that identifies, relates to, describes, is reasonably capable of being associated with or could reasonably be linked directly or indirectly with a particular consumer that you directly provide to us. We limit our collection, use, and retention of your Personal Information to what is reasonably necessary and proportionate to provide you our Website and Services. 

 

The Personal Information we collect may depend upon the context of your interactions with us, our Website, or our Services, and may include the following:

  • Personal Identifiers: Name, driver’s license number, email address, mailing and/or billing address, and phone number. We collect this information directly from you when you fill out our webforms or paper forms requesting this information for the purposes below.

  • Financial Information: Credit or debit card information. We collect this information directly from you when you fill out our online webforms to complete an online purchase or make a donation. 

 

We use and process Personal Information for the following purposes:

 

  • To enlist you as a rider with us.

  • To add you to our listserv for you to receive community events and updates. 

  • To provide you the Services you requested including merchandise you purchased or scholarship opportunities for which you applied. 

  • To process any fundraising or donations you submit to us.

  • To respond to your “Contact Us” request or communicate with you.

  • Where necessary, to comply with a legal obligation to which we are subject. 

  • For a specified purpose only where we have obtained and relied on your consent. 

 

We may disclose any of the Personal Information we collect about you in the following ways: 

 

  • With vendors, consultants, or other third-party service providers. We may disclose your Personal Information with and among our third-party vendors, service providers, contractors, or agents who perform services for us or on our behalf and require access to such information to do that work, including Printify to complete your purchase order and Mightycause, Square, or Venmo to process your payments for merchandise or donations. For other external hyperlinks to process donations through PayPal or Venmo and register or ticketing for events through EventBrite and Zeffy, see Section 3 “Links to External Third-Party Websites.”  

  • With our affiliate chapters or related entities. We may share your Personal Information with our affiliate chapters or related entities, which are controlled or under common control with us. Any such affiliate or related entity will also adhere to the terms of this Privacy Policy.

  • To comply with laws. We may disclose your information where we are legally required to do so in order to comply with applicable law, governmental requests, a judicial proceeding, court order, or legal process, such as in response to a court order or a subpoena (including in response to public authorities to meet national security or law enforcement requirements).

  • To protect vital interests and legal rights. We may disclose your information where we believe it is necessary to investigate, prevent, or take action regarding potential violations of our policies, suspected fraud, situations involving potential threats to the safety of any person and illegal activities, or as evidence in litigation in which we are involved.

As part of the Website, we may provide links to other Websites, online services, or applications. However, we are not responsible for the privacy practices employed by those Websites or the information or content they contain, nor does the inclusion of a link imply any endorsement by us. This Privacy Policy applies solely to information collected by us through the Website. This Privacy Policy does not apply to your use of an external third-party Website accessed by selecting a link on our Website or to any data collected by such third parties. We encourage our users to read the privacy statements of the third-party websites before proceeding to use them.

Subject to certain restrictions and exceptions, we may process your Personal Information requests: 

 

Confirm and Access to your Personal Information. This enables you to confirm whether we are processing your Personal Information and to access your Personal Information. 


Request correction of the Personal Information that we maintain about you. This enables you to have any inaccurate data we hold about you corrected, though we may need to verify the accuracy of the new data you provide to us.
 

Request deletion of your Personal Information in certain circumstances. This enables you to ask us to delete or remove Personal Information where there is no good reason for us continuing to process it, including when you no longer wish to be affiliated with our organization. 
 

Unsubscribe or Opt-out of direct marketing. When we send a promotional communication to you, you can opt-out of further promotional communications by emailing us at privacy@dykesonbikes.org. Please note that notwithstanding the promotional preferences you indicate by either unsubscribing or opting out, we may continue to send you administrative emails including, for example, updates with respect to our policies or term you may be subject to.

We do not “sell” your Personal Information (as these terms are defined under the CCPA or other similar US state privacy laws) that you submit to us. We do not currently use cookies and similar tracking technologies on our website. Therefore, we do not collect personal information through your website browser for targeted advertising or any tracking purpose.

We may take commercially reasonable steps to authenticate your identity before processing your request. You may submit a request on your own behalf, or you may designate an authorized agent to submit a request on your behalf. If you use an authorized agent, we may require verification of both your identity and the agent’s authority to act on your behalf. We may also require you to directly confirm that you have authorized the agent to act on your behalf.
