The mission of Dykes on Bikes, which 1) encourages civic participation and empowers a community of diverse women through motorcycle rides, charity events, LGBT Pride events and celebrations; 2) educates the public about LGBT culture and civil rights and provides educational programs such as riding safety techniques, motorcycle safety and maintenance, and the requirements to become a Dykes on Bikes patch holder; and 3) engages in philanthropic endeavors in the lesbian, gay, bisexual, transgender and women’s communities and beyond, is shared with our sisters around the world. San Francisco Dykes on Bikes is the mother chapter and we own the trademark in Dykes on Bikes and DOB.

DOB chapters have been established throughout the United States and the world. We offer trademark licenses to use the trademarks Dykes on Bikes and DOB to groups of LBGTQIA+ motorcycle riders who qualify under our Chapter Guidelines, who embody the DOB mission in their governing documents and their daily activities, whom are 501(c)(3) public benefit corporations or similar NGOs in their respective countries, and whom manifest the spirit of empowerment for LBGTQIA+ communities demonstrated by DOB contingents leading Pride parades and events around the world.
