SF Pride!

Well, another San Francisco Pride has come and gone. I always feel like it goes by so quickly. But maybe that's because we are all having too much fun!

I would like to say a great big Thank You to all our riders, and all of our riders' friends that came out bright and early Pride Sunday to ride down Market street and show not only San Francisco, but the world, that we are proud to be who we are. Thank You!

And another big Thank You to our fabulous volunteers! As San Francisco Dykes on Bikes®, we are actually quite small, and we would not be able to pull of such an incredible event without the help of a couple dozen volunteers. Our volunteers arrive at 7AM, a full hour before anyone else arrives to help ensure that registration, line up and the ride itself is as smooth as possible.

As we look forward into next year, look forward with Pride. While this past year brought several political disappointments, I was reminded on Sunday morning of the enthusiasm that our community brings to each and every event. It is that enthusiasm that will ensure that, while we may sometimes feel we are moving backwards, ensures we move forward, inch by inch, towards equality.

This year San Francisco Dykes on Bikes® has made tremendous efforts towards ensuring that we give back to our community as much as you all give to us. We are committed to community service and now offer opportunities to volunteer throughout the year.

Additionally, we have a fantastic ride coordinator. In fact, she organized two rides that tied for "Best One Day Event" in the San Francisco Bay Area Leather Alliance, 43rd Annual Leather Community Awards. Our rides are open to all, we just ask that you rsvp so our ride coordinator has an idea how many to plan for. She can be reached at rides@dykesonbikes.org

Thank you all for your excitement, and for being the wonderful, beautiful Dykes on Bikes® that you are!

We look forward to seeing you at our events and rides throughout the year. Don't forget to check back regularly
